Women's Rights has been a constant struggle for women across the world due to not being treated fairly and always being held to a lower standard then men. In Africa women are extremely discriminated and are needing help staying strong because people think that women should not have the right to have the same job opportunities and to not have the same pay rate.
There is an organization called The Rainbo Organization and they are bringing awareness to this issue that is happening. They have different groups going out to Africa that are helping women to have a voice and to regain their right to do everything that men can do. These rights are being violated due to violent behavior and an overpowering amount of strong powerful leaders that are controlling the community. We are trying to help these issues and try to help African women regain their voice and their right to life because everyone deserves human rights.
Wow that is interesting! I definitely am aware of women not being treated equal to men, but I have never realized it was such a bad occurrence happening in Africa. I'm glad to here there is an organization trying to make a difference and change this cruel thing and hopefully someday men and women will be able to be treated equal and have all the same rights!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I learn't more about women's rights by reading your blog such as I didn't know that it was as big as a problem as it used. I'm also learning a bit about women's working rights in India with my own blog and reading yours has helped my understanding. Can't wait to read what comes next
ReplyDeleteI also learned a lot about womens rights too from reading Maria`s post. I didn`t know how bad womens right really was i always thought it was getting better.
DeleteSince it is 2015, you would think women would be treated fairly by now. I know Canada has come a long way for women's rights but you don't really hear of any violations of women's rights anywhere else in the world. I knew that women's rights were be violated but I didn't realized how bad it was in some places, like Africa!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you there, Emily. I wasn't aware of how bad the violation of human rights was in Africa! I knew that Africa had many growing issues but I was surprised to know that gender equality was one. Good observation Emily!
DeleteI totally agree with you Emily. I never realized how badly rights are being broken in Africa against women. This is a issue that is spreading and it needs to be taken care of as soon as possible. I personally thought womens rights in middle eastern countries were bad, such as Afghanistan. However Maria, after reading your blog, I came to realization that this problem is spreading all over the globe. Well written!
